Change is inevitable
Progress is optional
Tony Robbins
During our lives change comes about constantly whether we want to accept it or not. Seasons change, people change, emotions change, our physical bodies change and list list could go on.
Some changes are welcomed with open arms, some we fight, some we ignore and some come and go without a blink of the eye. What happens with the emotional changes that can cause upheaval, what about the emotions that become stuck?
Recognising the emotions of change can help you and can guide you through the change. Likewise acknowledging someone else's emotions can go a long way towards helping them accept changes they may be going through. Changes are hard but ignoring your emotions can cause you a lot of mental anguish.

I am discussing 3 of the emotional responses to change below and the oils that can be used to support these emotions
Fear - the most common emotional response to changes as we may not know what's coming next and it is the fear of the unknown. This can develop as an anxiety within us and when the fear takes over the anxiety levels are much higher. Getting to the root cause of anxiety issues means we need to dig down into what has triggered these emotions and where did the fear creep in.
When fear becomes a physical long term emotion the body can have a weakened immune system leads to lots of different physical aliments such as skin rashes, cold hands and feet.
The organ associated with fear is the Kidneys

Grief - we can feel grief at times when something changes - almost like we have lost something, or left it behind. Even if we know that the change is coming or the change is for the better we can have still have that sense of loss surrounding how things use to be. Grief can present itself in a variety of physical forms such as headaches, loss of appetite, fatigue and aches and pains. It is a good idea to locate the areas of the body becoming effected by grief and taking some time for self care for this emotion. Let the grief come and process it , look after yourself and allow yourself the time to allow it to fully process.
The organ associated with grief is the lungs and the heart for emotional wounds of grief

Anger - we can easily become angry about changes, especially those that we don't want or that are out of our control. Anger can cause us to lash out, speak out, become withdrawn and implode on ourselves. Some people can lose their faith when they get angry over changes and some people can act completely out of character.
Physically anger can cause quite damaging effects on the body. When we become angry our bodies release more adrenaline, noradrenaline and cortisol all putting stress onto our adrenal glands - if we stay in this state we can overwhelm the adrenal glands. Digestion can suffer from anger being present as the metabolism slows down and the blood flow through the digestive system also slows down. Heart rate will become elevated, blood pressure will rise and this can lead to heart attacks and strokes.
Trying to calm ourselves through mental focus and deep breathing can reduce the amount of stress hormones released into our body. It's ok to get angry but we need to learn to snap out of it as quick as possible for the sake of our own physical health. Taking a moment to breathe in, hold for 3 seconds and deeply exhaling can reduce our response to anger.
The organ associated with anger is the liver.
