This is me...The end..Jokes

This is me yes and I tend to joke a lot.

My name is Nikki, I am the person behind the squares, the business and the certificates.

I start with a 'Behind' everything because I tend to hide behind everything. I am a course and certificate addict, I have some sort of weird addiction to collecting them. I have a thirst for knowledge, this develops into feeling the need for a qualification.

Everyday I get lots of questions, queries and people looking for some advice, so I decided to start the blog. I suppose the best thing to start with is introducing me and what I do.

I am a Holistic Massage Therapist, I have a therapy room at my home, I also have my online shop selling lots of wonderful essential oils and other lifestyle items.

My love of natural remedies, essential oils and interest in self care started at a young age. I was forever looking at 'traditional healing' the type that was past down from generation to generation. Way back before T'internet I would always listen to how my grandparents cured things and had little quips and tips for things. I loved stories of how garlic was good for your heart and when you had a fever you had to starve it, running cold water over your wrists to bring your body temperature down. Seemed like life tips back then, now they all make sense and I use them all the time, never mind finding everything else out.

When I was leaving high school I wanted to become a Beauty Therapist but I got shot down a few times and those unassuming looks made me change my mind so I studied Business Finance and Marketing whist working my way through life in Retail. I married at a young age and I moved to a post in the Civil Service where I worked for the next 10 years. It seen many changes in my personal life, a marriage, 3 kids and 2 house moves. During the early days of marriage with no kids I decided I would take that Beauty Therapy course after all. It was the only path back then towards Aromatherapy but I was glad I had started taking some steps towards my goal.

Then as it goes...life happens...I didn't move onto my Aromatherapy until I left my job in the Civil Service and my kids were all at school and felt I had the time to focus on myself again...The Mum Guilt

As an adult trying to pick up that dream again was hard because you have so much more happening physically and mentally around you. I was sure I would never get through it, I felt like I was going to have an uphill battle with retaining information, never mind actually getting out to the class.

How wrong was I??!! I absolutely loved it. I thrived on the time out for myself, time to focus my brain on achieving my goals. My confidence soon grew in what I was doing and I started picking up short courses and learning more subjects as I went along.

To date I have qualifications in; Beauty Therapy, Aromatherapy, Dream Analysis, Emotional Freedom Technique, Indian Head Massage and Cupping. I am working on completing another 6 courses at the minute, between higher level Aromatherapy, Reflexology and various short courses including my Teaching Certification.

Behind the squares there's a lot going on and behind the squares there's a vast amount of knowledge. I know I don't share as much as I should but I'm starting to open the door a little more with this first blog post.

I have curated an online shop for clients and customers. I have based it all on your needs and wants. Yes I would love to make lots of money but my first priority is making sure you get what you need and that you use it. The last thing I will ever do is sell for the sake of selling.

Next time round I will tell you about why the business has its name.
